Juniper Networks expands integration with Nutanix systems

Switches, firewalls and network management in Juniper + servers and virtualization in Nutanix.

Networking specialist Juniper has expanded its partnership with hyperconverged server seller Nutanix. The partners have added integration between Juniper QFX line of switches, vSRX Virtual Firewall as well as its own Contrail Enterprise Multicloud applications, and the Nutanix Enterprise Cloud platform. By providing easy-to deploy and simple-to manage cloud infrastructure, Nutanix is democratizing the cloud. It should not require hyperscaler talent pools and supporting budgets to make cloud a reality. And by tackling integration and packaging the surgeries, Nutanix is making these kinds of deployments common across enterprises of all sizes and shapes, Bikash Koley, CTO in Juniper, said in a blog article.

Their concentrate On multicloud adoption is a major part of why Juniper is delighted to partner with Nutanix.

– A match made in heaven?

Nutanix was born as a hyperconverged infrastructure provider, developing systems that incorporate compute, storage, virtualization and networking in one appliance, and may be scalable lightly to support thousands of virtual machines. More lately, the company has been styling itself as an enterprise cloud vendor – its own appliances may be utilized to rapidly create personal cloud deployments that may be managed without too much IT experience. In the mean time, its Acropolis OS can run across any environment – whether on premises or within a public cloud information center – which makes it an ideal fit for multi dimensional cloud environments.

Juniper has been cooperating with Nutanix for some time: the most recent step in this relationship sees improved integration between networking software and hardware out of Juniper, and Nutanix’s main cloud platform, including its Prism control mechanism. Customers of both companies may benefit from improved network visibility and analytics for virtualized workload, and simplified network management. Advanced integration also allows users to freely move workloads between multiple public clouds and their personal cloud. Utilizing Nutanix Prism and Contrail Enterprise Multicloud implies that enterprises can function in diverse on premises and public cloud environments as a single, cohesive group of resources, employing end-to end policy from one point of management irrespective of the underlying infrastructure behind the workloads, Koley explained. This partnership, in lots of modes, is a changing of the guard. It simply won’t be the case that the same group of legacy providers will lead the industry ahead, particularly if doing so requires actively promoting an operational model that weakens their incumbent positions. If we’re to collectively, as an industry, make the changes necessary to modernize IT, it is going to come on the back of leadership from companies whose business models don’t rely on outdated modes of operations.
